Nearby, you’ll find a small fish market selling fresh seafood caught in the bay and you’re likely to see the local fishermen bringing in the catch of the day in their colourful boats. This beach is popular with locals, so it’s a great place to feel immersed in island culture.

Folkestone Marine Park

Folkestone Marine Park

Folkestone Marine Park features an artificial reef, purposefully formed by a shipwreck. Snorkelers will prefer to swim around the inshore reef found in the Recreational Zone of the Park. This reef is found about one-third of a mile offshore and is home to numerous fish and other marine life.

Heywoods Beach

Located between Speightstown and the turquoise Caribbean Sea, Heywood's beaches make it a good spot for snorkelling as well. Keep your eye out for schools of gorgeous tropical fish. If you’re really lucky, you might even see a Barracuda!



Speightstown is a place full of character. Many of the beaches along the coast lining the town are turtle nesting spots, so if you’re visiting at the right time of year, you could witness some baby leatherbacks heading to the sea for their first swim.
